How fast does time really run!
My second child is one year old today. According to the books he’s no longer a baby, but a toddler now. But no matter what the books say he’ll always be my baby. I realized how fast time runs with my first son, but the speed doubled with two kids. I actually have to plan everything to get it done. And by everything, I mean EVERYTHING. Otherwise, I don’t do it. My days are simply filled with stuff to do and they go by so fast. But if I look back to what has happened in last year, so much.
Oliver is a »winter child«.
He was born on 27th of April 2017 and that is also the day when it was snowing heavily. Unusual for April surely. And also unforgettable for us. His birthday is a national holiday in Slovenia so everything was closed and the roads were empty. I had a check at the hospital and I did have a clue the baby might be born that day, but I had no clue it would happen so fast. So when my two boys left me at the hospital it started snowing heavily and just a few hours later when Oliver was born, there was 20-30 cm of snow on the ground.
Life is so great with Oliver in our family.
Well, in the beginning, it wasn’t always easy to handle two small kids and everything that comes along, but we adjusted quickly. And he made us all so happy. He is so curious, so cuddly, friendly, extremely funny, easy going. Definitely he is born to travel. He loved travelling since his first weekend getaway for his big brother’s second birthday. And now at one year old, he and his brother get along quite well and they can actually play together. This is what I wished for.
Every year on Oliver’s birthday, I’ll remember the snow and the empty hospital halls, but most importantly, I’ll think about those first moments with this beautiful soul. I’m so happy he’s in our lives, might he be making a mess or climbing into our laps for hugs (he does both continually).
Happy birthday dear Oliver!
Love,
Mom (Omg, I’m a mom – I still can’t believe sometimes)
